Eugen Hauser founded Himex Organic Products in 1986 in Gatineau, Quebec as one of the first brokers and exporters of Canadian organic products to Europe and Asia.  As a pioneer in the organic industry, Mr. Hauser focused on importing organic items grown and processed in Europe and beyond for his new company Inari Foods and offering them to his customers around the world.  He moved the company to Montreal in 1992 into a 3,000 sq. ft warehouse. Three years later, due to high demand, he moved to a 14,000 sq. ft warehouse.

He had a passion for sustainable farming and spent much of his time traveling from farm to farm to understand the needs of the people, the processes and to ensure stable supply for his customers. He truly believed in the ability of organics to change the certain destiny our world faces with the threatening rise of more and more environmental pollution, toxins and the associated consequential illness. Mr. Hauser passed away in June 2005 after losing his fight to abdominal cancer.

Michael Hauser joined his father’s company in 1991 and now oversees Genesis Food, a growing business with his father’s passion and commitment. The selection of Organic products has grown with the increased demands.
